Reset Password Root Reset password root berguna apabila kita mengalami lupa password ataupun server terkena serangan hack dari luar sehingga biasanya password root ikut diubah, metode yang kita gunakan kali ini adalah metode yang paling mudah untuk diterapkan tanpa menggunakan Live CD ataupun tools yang lain, cukup dengan menggunakan edit dan access sysroot system.
Cara Reset Password Root CentOS 7 Langsung saja untuk melakukan reset password bisa ikuti langkah-langkah sebagai berikut :
1. Restart sistem CentOS anda dan sebelum memilih booting system tekan e

2. Tambahkan script berikut sebelum rd.lvmlv=centos/root kemudian tekan ctrl+x
rw init=/sysroot/bin/sh
3. Tunggu beberapa saat hingga muncul tampilan seperti di bawah ini.
4. Akses sistem dan reset password dengan perintah berikut secara berurutan
chroot /sysroot Akses sistem dengan chroot /sysroot Reset password dengan perintah passwd root masukkan password root baru dan ulangi password root baru Update informasi selinux dengan touch /.autorelabel Keluar dari chroot dengan exit Restart CentOS dengan perintah reboot
Selesai, password root sudah ter-reset, sekarang bisa dicoba login kembali dengan password yang baru, selamat mencoba.
